2017 Toyota Tacoma Earned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Highest Rating

The 2017 Toyota Tacoma received a "good" rating - the best rating available from IIHS - in crashworthiness for small overlap front impact, moderate overlap front impact, side impact, roof strength, and head restraints and seats. High marks in an important test
Models across the small pickup segment were evaluated by the Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in a small overlap crash test, which replicates what happens when a vehicle runs off the road and a portion of its front end hits a tree or pole at 40 miles per hour. The 2017 Toyota Tacoma scored top marks, while rival models from Chevrolet, GMC, and Nissan didn’t perform as well according to results released earlier this week by the IIHS.
